The Best Organic Baby Food - Happy Baby Organic Puffs Review
75Finding Organic Baby Snacks
As parents, my wife and I have chosen to feed our daughter only organic food. Choosing an organic diet for your baby can be tough because it isn't the cheap choice and it certainly isn't always convenient, especially when eating at a restaurant or friend's or family member's home. But, organic baby food is a great way to ensure your newborn has a healthy diet and builds a nutritious foundation.
When choosing an organic diet for your baby, one of the hardest things can be finding a snack for your little one. Organic fruit is a healthy option, but it usually has to be ripe, refrigerated, cut or peeled.
Sometimes you just want to feed your baby something that is quick and convenient, but still healthy. For those times, Happy Baby Organic Puffs are the perfect baby snack.
Organic Ingredients:
Happy Baby Organic Puffs have no artificial flavors and are sweetened with 100% organic fruit juice. All of the wheat, oats, rice and starch ingredients in the Puffs are also completely organic and certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Nutrition:
Unlike a lot of baby snacks, Happy Baby Organic Puffs are a very healthy choice for your baby. According to the company website, Organic Puffs are a good source of Vitamin D, Vitamin B, Calcium and Iron.
Not only are they filled with nutritional ingredients, but the Happy Baby Organic Puffs are very low in sugar. Less sugar for a baby is not only good for their diet, but for the parents as well (trust me!).
Dr. Bob Sears, author of The Baby Book, has recommended them as a nutritional choice for little children.

My wife is notorious for jumping on the newest organic food craze. She hears about the benefits (usually from my mother-in-law) of some new organic food, lifestyle choice or home remedy and dives in head first...
Safety:
Happy Baby Organic Puffs are designed with a hole in the middle, like Cheerios, and are extremely lightweight and melt soon after a baby eats them.
Therefore, a baby is far less likely to choke on one than say a piece of cereal or cracker.
While it isn't advised that a baby eat them, or any food unsupervised, the risks are probably far less with Happy Baby Organic Puffs.
Convenient:
Requiring no prep work, utensils, bibs, refrigeration or anything else, Happy Baby Organic Puffs are a great, go-anywhere snack.
Just pack them in a diaper bag or purse and feed your baby wherever you are.
The packaging for Happy Baby Organic Puffs is very conducive to travel, with a durable plastic tube that won't break and a snap-closure lid so the contents are safe and secure.
The container is made of BPA-Free, recycled materials
Age:
We started feeding our daughter Happy Baby Organic Puffs in-between meals around the same time she turned six months old.
The company recommends your baby be able to crawl, eat solids, chew and pick up food with their fingers before you give them the snack, so the age could be different for every child.
Price:
Happy Baby Organic Puffs are somewhere around $3.50 to $5.00 depending on your organic food store or online retailer.
According to the container, a serving size is around 75 pieces with nine servings per package. Therefore, each serving is around $.50, or what it would cost for an adult to buy a bag of potato chips from a vending machine.
Flavors:
Currently, Happy Baby Organic Puffs are available in apple, banana, strawberry, sweet potato and vegetable flavors.
Why You Should Try Happy Baby Organic Puffs:
Pros:
- Organic ingredients - No artificial flavors or sweeteners
- Nutritional - Good Source of Vitamin D/B, and iron and calcium
- Convenient - Durable container, No prep work
- Safe - Melt in mouth
Cons:
- Price - $3.50 - $5.00 Container
- Local availability - Not sold in most grocery stores
Personal Experience:
Our daughter absolutely loves the Happy Baby Organic Puffs. She eats about a container or two every week. It's great because my wife can bring the container on errands and if our daughter gets hungry or crabby, a small handful of puffs will usually cheer her up.
Thus far, we have only tried the banana and apple flavors, but would be excited to give the strawberry or sweet potato a try.

keen on writing and informing us bogerk,
Hi Bogerk - You write "newborn" are you feeding your newborn these puffs? What about breastfeeding your newborn? Even in the fanciest of restaurants breastfeeding can be easily concealed and acceptable. Buying organic will be expensive this way- you're paying for the packaging. Steam organic vegetables or mush organic fruit and keep in a soft cooler type container and feed this - though it's organic it's in a container (processed) - you wanna go full on organic, and save money? Make your own organic baby food. Nice to see a dad writing about this stuff. Thanks for the article.

No offence meant but...
"All of the wheat, oats, rice and starch ingredients in the Puffs are also completely organic and certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)."
That's rather like saying that the arsnic is organic. Wheat, oats, rice and starch ingredients all trigger
insulin. It is the tremendous amoutn of starches and sugars that is causing the diabetes epidemic.
I fed my kiddie home made veggies like cauliflower and broccoli. And when she didn't want to eat it, I missed it with a bit of stewed apple.
