Own a Kegerator Today!

If you love beer and have a bar in your home, or maybe just a free area in your basement or garage, you may want to consider buying a kegerator online.

A beer kegerator is a mini refrigerator designed specifically for the purpose of refrigerating kegs of beer and serving tap beer in one unit.

By owning a kegerator, you will be able to keep fresh beer on tap in your home for months at a time and save yourself a lot of money in the process.

A typical 1/4 barrel of beer ranges from $40 to $60 and serves roughly 7.5 gallons of beer or 80 12-oz. glasses of beer.

Considering a typical six-pack of microbrew or imported beer costs somewhere between $8 to $10, you are saving yourself anywhere from $40 to $60 for every 960 ounces of beer.

Depending on how much beer you drink throughout the year, you could find yourself saving close to $250 a year after the initial cost of purchasing the kegerator.

If you prefer tap beer to cans or bottles, than owning a kegerator in your home is simply priceless, plus it helps prevent expensive trips to the local pub.

The KeggerMeister KM2800SS Kegerator offers similar features to the EdgeStar Kegerator, although the price is roughly $100 more. Dual guage is nice as it allows you to not only read the pressure of the CO2 tank, but the remaining levels as well. Stainless steel fixtures give the kegerator a sleek look in your home.

Assembly should take no longer than 20 to 40 minutes. The 2.5-lb. CO2 tank lasts somewhere between 3-4 kegs and helps to dispense cool, fresh beer for up to 3 months.

The 7975 Frosty Kegerator is very similar to the KeggerMeister model, although the entire unit is made of a sleek, durable stainless steel construction to match any classic or contemporary decor which bumps the price up an additional $50.

The model has received a 4-Star average review, however there have been complaints regarding a complicated assembly process. The 2.5-lb. CO2 tank last somewhere between 3-4 kegs and features the dual gauge to indicate PSI and remaining CO2.

Haier BrewMaster Kegerator

The Haier HBFO5EBSS BrewMaster Beer Dispenser comes in around $550 to $600 online with many similar features to the EdgeStar model, including removable shelving to convert the kegerator into a full-sized beer cooler.

The 5-lb. C02 tank requires less fill ups than the 2.5-lb. unit found on both the KeggerMeister and Frosty models, although it features a single PSI gauge. An included tap cleaning kit ensures the beer flows smooth and an adjustable thermostat let's you make sure it's always the right temperature.

Summit SBC-500B-2

- Included CO2 tank and dual gauge
- Dual faucets

With a 5-lb. C02 tank, dual gauge, adjustable thermostat and tap cleaning kit, the unit features the very best of all the other models reviewed. Customer reviews average 4.5 Stars on most retail sites listing the product.

How Much Beer is in a Keg?

5 Gallon Keg = 53 12-oz. Beers

1/4-Barrel Keg = 80 12-oz. Beers

1/2-Barrel Keg = 160 12-oz. Beers

Kegerator Recommendation:

After researching the features of each kegerator, it is my opinion the EdgeStar KC2000 Kegerator is the best beer dispenser at the lowest price. It is one of only two models on the list to feature the 5-lb. CO2 tank, and the only to come in under $400.00.

The only downside of the EdgeStar Kegerator is the lack of a dual gauge to see how much C02 is left in the tank, but with a larger tank, you can worry about this less often.

While the dual faucet feature of the Summit model is pretty cool, it doesn't seem necessary unless you intend to host a lot of parties and gatherings where you will want to offer variety to your guests.
